What am I up to right now? Well…
I’m in the middle of reading The Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin. I have to say that I am pleasantly surprised. People either really, really loved this book or reading it was something akin to having a tooth pulled. This book is about Ms. Rubin’s year long journey to be more happy. Every month she tackles something different and the book is her documenting of the project. Some things are obvious like getting enough sleep and remembering to have fun, but the way she goes about achieving her happiness, is what is making this book enjoyable.
I have been reading up on organics and sustainable growing practices. I have learned some interesting things so far. Some good, some bad. Finding out the other day that a lot of the food we purchase has wood pulp in it (yes, you read that right) makes me feel like I am making the right decision to lead our family into the vegetarian light. My ultimate goal is to some day be vegan, but as they say, everything in moderation. Baby steps, baby steps…
I have been exercising like a mad woman and I am seeing results! Go me, go me, go me! It’s hard some days, but I get it done. My pants are starting to feel a little looser and I am sleeping better at night. All positives, and it is keeping me motivated. 🙂
I have been spending less time on my laptop. I’ve been taking my daughter to the park and just enjoying the sunshine. The computer is an informative device, but sometimes one needs a break.
What are you guys up to?
Good for you spending more time with your daughter. You will never, ever regret that! My boys are due home any minute from school to start their summer break and the little bee is sleeping soundly for her afternoon nap…so I am outside with my laptop getting some sunshine on my shoulders and perusing blogs 🙂 This summer, my goals are to be as energetic and fun as my grandma was with us when we stayed with her as little kids. She took us crazy kids somewhere fun and kid-friendly daily! She’s the best and she makes me want to be a better mother. 🙂 Hope you’re having a great summer, Mackenzie!

I like your goals for this summer Michelle! I want to be that energetic and fun too!
I’m glad that I am taking more time to spend with my daughter. Kids are only young once, and gosh time sure does fly. Hope you are having a great summer too 🙂 Here’s to lots of runnning in the sprinklers and tall glasses of lemonade!
