Howdy folks! Hope everyone is enjoying the last vestiges of their Sunday. Hard to believe that we pushing forward into the last week of January already! Um, hello 2014, slow it up a little will ya? π
Sorry to have been M.I.A. on the ‘ol blog lately, but I’ve been busy taking care of my hubby who is recuperating from shoulder surgery. He had a torn bicep muscle that had to be re-attached, and a bunch of other medical jargon that doctors mention, that you just nod your head and go, “Uh huh”. π He is healing very well actually and starts physical therapy this week. Unfortunately, this is the 2nd time he has had to have surgery on this shoulder, so we are hopeful that this time, it will heal properly.
Also, this guy has been tending to my husband as well, making sure he has had enough purring and cuddles to speed up his healing process. π
I also checked out what has probably been my umpteenth personal finance book:
It was a few years old, but it had this oldie but goodie:
“To stay above water financially, you have to spend less than you make. You simply cannot meet financial goals if you don’t live within your means”.
Often said, but needs to be repeated, right?
I’ve read three books so far in 2014; I’m not quite sure what I want my goal number to be, and to be honest, I haven’t even written any goals for this year yet. But I know #1 on the list of course would be MOVE TO OREGON!!
Still excited about that one…still so, so excited!!
How is everyone else doing? Are you sad as well that the 49ers didn’t make the Superbowl? π
Ouch! Wishing him a speedy recovery.
Thank you!
Oh no! Sorry to hear about your husband’s surgery. Glad his recovery is going well. Such a cute cat! I’m sure between you and your cat that your husband is being pampered. π And yes, we can never hear this enough – βTo stay above water financially, you have to spend less than you make. You simply cannot meet financial goals if you donβt live within your meansβ.
Yes, I am glad he is recovering much better this time around π
I thought it was a great quote, too. One can never hear it enough!
Ouch, sorry to hear about your husband’s shoulder surgery – that sounds super painful about the muscle reattaching! Hopefully he heals quickly. π¦ Sorry friend, but B’s pretty excited about the Seahawks going to the Super Bowl – this being said, I’ll be happy when it’s all over since it was rather silly for the media to navel-gaze at the Sherman thing ad nauseam!
Thanks Anna π
Yes, that whole Sherman thing is annoying; the media is making a big deal outta nothing! That being said, 49ers should have won!!!! π
That sucks about the shoulder surgery. I’m glad it never came to that point with me but my left shoulder is still messed up. π¦ I love checking out new PF books. Sometimes even though you know the info, a refresher course is in order!
Thanks Tonya. Sorry that your shoulder isn’t better π¦
Yes, a refresher course, exactly!!
The road back from surgery can be long and tough.. You are doing the right thing by focusing on your hubby and helping him get back into the swing again. Here’s to a quick recovery!
Thanks Jefferson! π
I hope your husband is ok. Sounds like some totally not fun stuff! Your cat is soooooo cute though. I need to get me some more pf books to stay in the zone, learn some things and get inspired.
Thanks, Melanie! He is definitely on his way. And I loooove my cat π He’s a cutie!
Aww hope hubby is recuperating and feeling better. Your kitty is adorable! Is he a Maine coon? We had a cat that looked really similar when I was little, she was a Maine coon and super duper sweet.
Thanks KK!
I’m not sure what kind of cat he is, we got him from the humane society. I love him to pieces!!!! π
