Needless to say, these past few months for me have been a whirlwind. A lot of changes, and the fact that it’s October and in a few short months, we’ll be saying “Happy New Year!”… is just, well, overwhelming.
I have a lot of items on my to-do list and I can’t seem to get on a blogging schedule to save my life. There are books I want to read, there’s new recipes I want to try, there are pumpkins I want to carve.
I am not okay with frenetic. It’s not in my nature.
I like to take a half hour and drink a cup of tea, while my daughter drinks a cup of chocolate milk out of her favorite cup. We cuddle on the couch and watch Max and Ruby or Peppa Pig. I hold her close.
Moments like these won’t last forever.
Busy and constant, constant, constant, drain me.
So, I want to focus moreย on the simple things. Because, really?
The to-do lists aren’t going anywhere.
Well said! Time with family is so important. Sometimes I have to remind myself to slow down, breathe and enjoy the small things. Ultimately the small things are the memories we’ll have to hang on to.
You are so right! The small things are the memories we’ll hang on to.
Love the cup picture, and I can just imagine you bonding with your daughter – thanks for the reminder it really is about the simple things in life!
Thanks Anna ๐
October has been a crazy busy for month and I keep telling myself it’s a good kind of crazy busy, but like you – I would love to sit down and enjoy a cup of tea and hangout with my girls. A good reminder that the to-do really isn’t going to go away and can wait a few minutes longer to be completed.
The to-do list can usually wait, but I guess as parents, sometimes we think it can’t ๐
I know exactly what you mean. I have a feeling things in life in general are going to slow down for me. Good if it’s everything else, bad if it’s work. ๐ฆ I have the opposite of most people’s holidays. Mine are really quiet.
I hope work picks up for you Tonya! You are so talented ๐
