Here are my goals for July:
Bye Bye Costco Membership: We have a membership to Costco that expires in August and we have decided not to renew it. We are trying to save money and that ginormous warehouse does nothing but cause us to spend money. Sure, everything is in bulk and isn’t it awesome that you can buy 40 pounds of dishwashing detergent and 5 bags of bagels for a swell price! But underneath the detergent and bagels is all the other crap that you didn’t go in to Costco for, and that’s what I hate. Costco is impulse spending at its worst. That warehouse and my wallet are cutting the cord.
Attack the Cable Bill: Well, not literally, but you know what I mean. It’s time to go through this bill with a fine-tooth comb and see what it is exactly that we are paying for and what we can cut. I’m not looking for a specific number in terms of dollars, but this bill is too high for my taste.
Attack My Closet: I’m liking the word attack apparently. I’ve lost weight and I have clothes that are ridiculously loose on me. I don’t want to hold on to them as “back-up” clothes because that’s just saying, oh you’ll fit back into that size again at some point. I don’t want to be that size again. I like the weight I am at now, and need some clothes that properly fit. Besides cleaning out your closet is cathartic. And I need some of that right now.
Do 3 Things On My Summer List: I mentioned previously that I made a list of fun things to do this summer, so I want to get started on that. Some are free, like the beach, and others like going to a baseball game, require a bit of dough. We’ll see how the month goes.
Did you set any goals this month?
What great goals! I love writing lists like this. The satisfaction of crossing off the items that got accomplished is priceless 🙂
I love making lists! It somehow helps keep me accountable 🙂
Great goals! Congrats on your weight loss. It’s not an easy thing to do. I lost some weight at the end of last year (22 lbs) and then gained a bit back, but am trying to tackle those pounds.
Sometimes, Costco just isn’t worth it!
Thanks! Losing weight is hard…there are definitely days where I really have to push myself to exercise, but I feel so much better after I do!
Yeah, Costco is a tough habit to break but it’s got to be done!
If your closet looks anything like the ones in our house, it needs war!!! Mine are ALL messes. The boys have clothes that don’t fit them, my daughter has clothes with tags on them (EBAY!!!) and mine has several outfits I will NEVER wear. Sigh…anyone like doing this stuff want to come over? 🙂
Oooh, I love to organize! If we lived closer to one another, I would totally help you out! I’m not as organized as I used to be owing to the fact that I have a toddler who likes to “help mommy”. Which means cleaning up a bigger mess 🙂
